SARS Watch and Capitalism
If you are interested in tracking things SARS then Tim Bishop's SARS Watch is the place to go. Lots of good material and links to much, much more.
I am not sure, though, why Tim calls this an Extreme Capitalist approach.
'cause Leninist systems made a big deal of children turning in their parents for ideological reasons -- now Taiwan is suggesting they do so for money.
thanks for the plug.
Tim
Tim, I undertand the comparison just not the labeling. I think of respect for 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' as the pillars of capitalism. I'm not real familiar with the Taiwanese government but suspect it to be at least as statist if not more so then the US which continues to move further and further away from the 'pillars'. So the gov't action you refer to seems very far from capitalism to me.

I'm a strange mix of social democrat and libertarian, but certainly not a follower of Ayn Rand.
Each according to their tastes.
