Why George Tenet Should Resign

From the Daily Kos:

Rumsfeld is shifting responsivbility away from his Team B aides at DOD and dumping the mess in Tenet and Kay's lap. Neither man is particularly respected or liked by Rumsfeld and this political move clearly indicates he's trying to distance himself and the military from the issue.

If Tenet were smart, he would resign and go after Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush. They clearly expect him to fail, blame him for the failure and then install a puppet who does things their way. This is a naked political move by Rumsfeld and Cheney to cover themselves and place the blame on the CIA, an organization mistrusted by both left and right.

There is more and some juicy tidbits in the comments as well.

I think this is great that Tenet has resigned. He may of resigned for personal reasons but few people be able to prove the only legitimate reason. I hope in the near future, someone under, above or beside him reports the real reason(s). I know if I had his job I might resign immediately but I would also take into consideration the pay and fringe benefits. Hopefully he didn't have to many people in his crosshairs for now the crosshairs could be on him. I wouldn't want anyone to misfire at me! May all of our politicians find serving in that position difficult.
I think it's about time that we require all of our citizens assigned civil service duties. They are required to serve in the military. I think we should have Public Colleges around the nation so that we don't raise a bunch of dumb Americans. More importantly those services provided can help our publics knowledge and uses of our systems in place. We need to strive for a streamlined set of processes so that we don't have ill-minded business controlled government at the helm with the intelligence of a 3 year old. Thank you George Tenet for resigning. All we need it for the other George to resign now before our economy gets out of hand. If the other George doesn't resign I'm afraid of what his influence could do to the worlds economy!
