We’ll post links to sites that have Friday (plus or minus a few days) photos of their chosen animals (photoshops at our discretion and humans only in supporting roles). Watch the Exception category for rocks, beer, coffee cups, and….?
We will add your post to the list if you do one of the following:
- Leave a comment or trackback to this post,
- Use the Carnival Submission Form,
- Email Modulator or
- Our extensive staff finds it during our weekly search of the web
Of course, if our staff goes on strike then we will link only those posts someone tells us about.
Visit each border and come back regularly Friday-Sunday to visit new boarders. And do link to the Friday Ark whether you use trackbacks or not.
Extra, Extra: All Ark boarders are invited to shout out at the Friday Ark Frapper Map.
Dog folks: remember to submit your links to the Carnival of the Dogs hosted by Mickey’s Musings.
Cat folks: remember to submit your links to the Carnival of the Cats which goes up every Sunday and the 88th edition will be hosted this week by IMAO. There are more weekly cats at eatstuff’s Weekend Cat Blogging which has many participants who may not be familiar to Ark or Carnival participants.
- Extra, Extra: Laurence has started a The Catbloggers Frappr Map. Go shout out!
Bird folks: I and the Bird: A Blog Carnival for Bird Lovers is published every 2 weeks. Send your links for the 12th edition to Mike. The 11th edition is up and hosted by the The House & other Arctic Musings.
New for the spineless: Circus of the Spineless. A monthly celebration of Insects, Arachnids, Molluscs, Crustaceans, Worms and most anything else that wiggles. The second edition is up at Snails Tales.
The 3rd edition is scheduled for November 30 and will be hosted by Urban Dragon Hunters. Mail submissions to nannothemis AT gmail.com
Arkive editions of the Friday Ark.
Slow Updates This Week: Thanksgiving is this week and like last year we will be traveling and will have limited time and bandwidth. This wasn’t too much of a problem then. There were only 22 boarders. Now there are often over 100. Friday updates probably won’t begin until noon or later eastern time. Be patient and click through comments and trackbacks if it looks like things are way behind.

Note for Haloscan Users: Haloscan started (the end of July) rejecting trackbacks if they were submitted “too rapidly” by the same host. I don’t know what the timer is but it is long enough so that it was very difficult to ping everyone that is using Haloscan for trackbacks. I’m sure that they are doing this to try to hold back the tide of trackback spam but it makes the service pretty useless for carnival type posts. Perhaps you can contact them and urge some different solution. Update: Typepad appears to be doing the same thing. Everytime I update the Ark it appears the timers are reset and the long list of MT autogenerated pings fail. Yecchhhh….

FRIDAY ARK is now up at Modulator!
Hello,
I just discovered you and am so happy! Thanks for posting the link to my frosted sheep, Snugglebunny, last week.
Here are two ark links for this week at Farmgirl Fare (http://farmgirlfare.com):
Two Questioning Lambs (posted today 11/25)

and on Thanksgiving: thankful for my beagle, Robin:

Hope I did this right. And I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Friday Catblogging
Since it’s Friday, I thought I’d spread the joy of humor-free, apolitical Friday Catblogging to IMAO (aka “I-MEOW”). Today, it’s…
Friday Catblogging
Sox chills out – Wow, what a rush!
Clean Angel
Angel is a Maltese that got caught in some evil nuclear accident. He outweighs any normal specimen of his breed by a good twelve pounds. However he does exihbit the playfullness of the breed, and is seemingly always happy. He…
Thalia and the Sheepskin Throw
Few things in life give Thalia as much comfort as the sheepskin throw that adorns the futon in our living room. This is Thalia’s favorite position for sheepskin lounging. I am planning a post built entirely around various pictures of…
Jacqueline and the Sheepskin Throw
I usually write about Jacqueline and Angel, which is logical because they are very close. They live in the house whereas Mariah lives in the backyard. Being house dogs, Angel and Jacqueline spend all their time together. Therefore any adventure…
Charlotte is Gone.
Charlotte November 24, 2005 This morning I found my dear little turtle, Charlotte, dead. She was about nine years old. Back in March I wrote about Charlotte, and how I found her. You can read that post by going…
Infest the Ark
Modulator's Friday ark has a deficiency of invertebrates this week, so I'm suggesting that he add something about slug penises and squid nuptial dances to the list. Anyone else have more to add?
FRIDAY ARK #62
The Friday Ark is floating on a sea of Turkey Gravy over at the Modulator.

Feline Friday
Sometimes cats like to cause trouble together (last week they were separate): Well, that doesn’t seem like trouble, but Mom wanted to sit there. When I had my birthday this past Sunday, Church and Snowball were far more interested in…
Kitty Inspects the Turkey
Hmmm….what do we have here? I can’t really tell….let’s see what the other side smells like. Well, he might not have thought much about the marinade, but we sure did enjoy that creole butter taste! Go visit the Friday Ark…
City Dog/Country Dog
Thanksgiving
No turkey, no horn of plenty — all you get is this grateful little squirrel. It would be grateful, if squirrels were able to feel gratitude. I suspect it’s something more like delight, or relief, or full-belly pleasure. Here we are again, at this most…
Thomasburg Walks Infesting the Ark with a tiny but fearsome invertebrate.
Cat Blogging
Well yes I know I’ve used this picture before, but like I said in my last post, I’m having an attack of sudden onset stupidity so this is the best it’s going to be. Besides it’s a nice picture.
…
Feline Friday: Soft (focus)
This year, Sasha is thankful that Lyra will (sometimes) let him snuggle up with her. Paul and I are thankful that we have these two, and Sasha’s brother Sergei, to add laughter, warmth and soft, silky fur to our lives.
Friday Ark is boarding….
Hi,
I left a comment earlier but it doesn’t seem to be showing up.
Thanks for including a link to my frosted sheep, Snugglebunny, in last week’s post. That’s how I happily discovered you.
Here are two links for this week from my blog, Farmgirl Fare (http://farmgirlfare.com):
Two inquisitive lambs:
http://foodiefarmgirl.blogspot.com/2005/11/daily-farm-photo-112505.html
And my beagle, Robin, for whom I am thankful every single day:

My apologies if you already received these or if I’m doing this wrong. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Friday Cat Shopping
As a highly evolved, spiritual being, Boo is supremely uninterested in Black Friday. Today I offer some kitty shopping links; here you may find something for your own divine felines.
Friday CatBlogging: The Stairs Belong to Me
Pumpkin says the stairs are hers and you can’t use them. For more Friday CatBlogging pictures, see the Friday Ark #62.
Friday Creature
I found this bird and a bunch of friends in an aviary at a doctor’s office waiting room recently. I’ve always thought of this type of bird as a parakeet, but (the things I learn through sharing these photos!) it…
What Me Shop?
Not on today, no how, no way. I’m laying in bed. Away from them.
It’s that day, Friday Ark, kitties. They’re better than shopping.

Friday Doggger Bloggging!
Pooch has a new sweater. 🙂 It has a cute hood with a tassel, but whenever we try to put it on his head he freaks! My camera battery died soon after this picture, after it charges I’ll try again…….
My parents’ dog Tommy
Thanksgiving finds me home in upstate New York, where there is plenty of snow, and the lives here move quite slowly. I’ve been eating a lot, reading a lot and sleeping a lot. My parents have a German Shepherd named…
